Tripura: Voter Help Line Established Across Assembly Constituencies for General Election to Lok Sabha
Northeast Desk, 15th April: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tripura, has taken a proactive step by setting up a Voter Help Line in all 60 Assembly Constituencies to facilitate voters and political parties during the General Election to the Lok Sabha.
Under the leadership of Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal, an order has been issued to establish a central redressal system for queries, issues, and complaints related to the upcoming election. Each Assembly Segment Level will have a dedicated Voter Help Line, and efforts are underway to promote the segment-wise Voter Help Line numbers among the electorate.
According to the order, one Complaint Redressal Officer (CRO), appointed by the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), will oversee the Voter Help Line for their respective Assembly Segment. The CRO, along with their team, will maintain records of complaints, address them promptly, and assign suitable officers or teams to resolve issues immediately. Additionally, the CRO will also monitor social media handles of the Assembly Segment, local news channels, and prominent political leaders’ accounts to track and address any circulating news or issues.
To ensure effective implementation of the mechanism, all Complaint Redressal Officers (CROs) are authorized to collaborate with Civil and Police Sector Officers, Flying Squads, Static Surveillance teams, Video Surveillance teams, and Officer-in-Charges of concerned Police Stations. They will promptly address any complaints received through the Voter Help Line number under the supervision of the Assistant Returning Officer, with overall guidance from the Returning Officer.
This proactive approach aims to enhance transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in addressing voter concerns and ensuring a smooth electoral process in Tripura during the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha.
