Tripura Welcomes New Cabinet Minister: BJP MLA Kishor Barman Sworn In

Agartala: BJP MLA Kishor Barman was today officially inducted into the Tripura Cabinet, taking oath as a minister at a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan. Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu administered the oath of office and secrecy, bringing an end to days of speculation surrounding the cabinet expansion in the state.

The formal induction of Barman comes swiftly after Chief Minister Manik Saha’s recent meeting with the Governor, where discussions regarding the cabinet’s augmentation were reportedly finalised.

Expressing his enthusiasm following the ceremony, Barman termed the moment a “new chapter” in his political journey. He conveyed his profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manik Saha, attributing his new responsibility to their trust and backing. “I will work for Viksit Bharat and Viksit Tripura,” he affirmed, reiterating his commitment to the development agenda. He further extended his thanks to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda for the opportunity.

When queried about his portfolio, Barman maintained a disciplined party worker’s stance, stating that no discussions had taken place yet. “As a BJP worker, I never think about such matters. Whatever task the party gives me, I will perform,” he humbly added.

Chief Minister Saha welcomed Barman’s entry, confirming that the cabinet now boasts its full strength of 12 ministers, with one MoS berth still remaining. “I am hopeful he will uphold his responsibilities and work towards the goal of ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’,” Chief Minister Saha stated, expressing confidence in the newly sworn-in minister.

While some ministers were absent due to health concerns or travel, the significant event saw the presence of key state officials, including Chief Secretary JK Sinha and DGP Anurag, alongside other senior dignitaries.
