Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, speaking on May 3rd, celebrated the state’s Panchayati Raj system, proclaiming it an exemplar of effective grassroots governance. He underscored the system’s remarkable performance, which has recently garnered national attention and accolades.
The Chief Minister revealed that Tripura’s Panchayats have distinguished themselves, receiving seven prestigious national awards. These awards acknowledge the Panchayats’ significant role in driving rural progress and development.
“The way the Panchayati Raj system is functioning in Tripura is truly commendable,” Saha stated, stressing that these achievements are a direct result of the state’s focused efforts on empowering rural communities. He attributed this success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, noting, “The Prime Minister recognizes that rural development is essential for national progress.”
Furthermore, CM Saha highlighted the positive impact of these initiatives, citing a notable increase in the number of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across Tripura. This surge in SHGs indicates a substantial strengthening of economic activities at the grassroots level, contributing to the overall economic well-being of rural residents.
