Trishakti Corps’ Motorcycle Expedition Showcases Women Empowerment and Honors Indian Army Bravehearts

Northeast Desk, 25th June: The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a motorcycle expedition from June 18 to 24, traversing North Bengal and Sikkim. This event saw the participation of women riders from the Iron Horses Academy, New Delhi, aiming to showcase women empowerment and honor the bravery of Indian Army soldiers at various war memorials.

The expedition also sought to highlight the tourism potential of the border regions of North Bengal and Sikkim. Participants embarked on a scenic journey through the majestic hills of Sikkim, visiting significant landmarks such as Nathu La and New Baba Mandir. A homage ceremony was held at the Ganju Lama War Memorial, paying respect to the fallen heroes.

The journey concluded in Gangtok, where the riders met with Girls NCC cadets from the 3 NCC Battalion over tea, engaging in conversations that emphasized the spirit of adventure and camaraderie. The expedition explored the diverse and challenging terrains of East Sikkim, highlighting the adventurous spirit of the participants.

Following their time in Sikkim, the riders ventured through the Dooar area of North Bengal, riding to the Indo-Bhutan border. They interacted with local women and NCC girl cadets, promoting solidarity and empowerment. The team also paid homage at the Damdim War Memorial and conducted a workshop on ‘Safe Riding of Two Wheelers.’

The expedition culminated at Sukna on June 24, marking the end of a journey that not only celebrated the courage and resilience of women but also showcased the Trishakti Corps’ commitment to empowering women, especially young girls in the border areas. While the Indian Army continues to guard the borders, initiatives like these contribute to a more inclusive and empowered future.
