Triumphant Smiles: ZPM’s TBC Lalvencchunga Celebrates Victory in Aizawl West I Election Results

Northeast Desk, 4th December: TBC Lalvencchunga, the candidate from Zoram People’s Movement, has emerged victorious in the Aizawl West I constituency as the vote counting for the 2023 Assembly elections draws to a close.

ZPM has triumphed over Mizo National Front, securing 27 seats, while the incumbent MNF could only manage to secure 10 seats. Notably, BJP clinched two seats, while Congress continued its lackluster performance with victory in just one seat.

The majority of exit polls released on November 30 predicted a hung assembly in the state. MNF, Congress, and ZPM contested from all 40 states, with BJP fielding 23 candidates.

Meanwhile, Lalduhoma, the leader of Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), has announced his intention to meet Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati to stake a claim to form the government. The Chief Ministerial face of ZPM stated that the swearing-in ceremony for the new government is expected to take place within this month.

“Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, I will meet the Governor. Swearing-in will be within this month,” said Lalduhoma.

Highlighting the financial challenges faced by Mizoram, Lalduhoma emphasized the necessity of financial reforms at this critical juncture.
