Trump Sexually Abused Writer Carroll, Must Pay Her $5 Million

International Desk, 10 May: In the 1990s, a writer has indicted former US President Donald Trump for sexually assaulting Jean Carroll. According to the US jury, in the 1990s, Donald Trump sexually assaulted author E. Jean Carroll. Trump also called the author a liar and demeaned her in the public. The jury announced the verdict at the Manhattan Federal Court on Tuesday afternoon at the end of a seven-day trial in a civil court. The recent US jury’s conviction will have a huge impact on the former president’s upcoming 2024 election campaign.

Carroll alleged that the former US president sexually assaulted her at a department store in New York City in the mid-1990s and then denigrated her in the public eye by levelling her allegations. On Tuesday, a nine-member jury team inspected all the facts and confirmed that the former president had not rape Carol. Jurors consider the former columnist of the magazine Ale to be entitled to nearly $5 million in compensation and punitive damages.

The court said that since this is a civil case, Trump will not face any criminal punishment. Meanwhile, Trump’s spokesman Steven Cheung on Tuesday pointed out that the former president would appeal to the court challenging the jury’s ruling and that they would not have to pay compensation until a retrial takes place at the end of challenging the ruling. Meanwhile, Carol in sunglasses came out of the court with a smile after the verdict was announced on Tuesday.

Later, in a written statement, Carol said, “I had filed this case against Donald Trump to get rid of the slander on me and get a normal life back. And finally today the world has come to know the truth. Today’s victory will be not only for me but for every woman who is suffering.”

Trump did not appear before the jury during the hearing of the case. Just after the verdict, the former US president mentioned on his social site that he does not know Carol.
