Tusker Found Dead at Tea Estate In Assam’s Sonitpur
Guwahati: A wild elephant’s carcass was found on a tea estate in the Sonipur district of Assam on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the Adabari tea estate staff noticed the jumbo first then the forest authorities.
Later, a team of forest rangers arrived at the scene and found the dead elephant at the tea estate’s 23rd node.
“The employees of the tea estate informed us about the incident. We also informed our higher authority as well as the veterinary doctor. We will come to know the exact cause of death of the wild elephant,” Anil Borthakur, Deputy Ranger of Amaribari Central Forest Range said.
An adult elephant was recently found dead near Pengeri in the Tinsukia district of Assam.
Reportedly, the dead elephant had blood and froth coming out from his mouth.
The exact cause of its death will be established after post-mortem, forest officials informed.
Meanwhile, locals suspected that the elephant’s death was caused by Food poisoning.
