Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a woman was allegedly trampled to death by an irate tusker at Bokakhat in Golghat district of Assam on Monday.
The incident took place at Adarsh Gaon near Panbari area.
The victim has been identified as Reena Das.
According to reports, Reena was attacked by the wild elephant when she went to a paddy field for grazing.
It is learned that the elephant had strayed in search of food into the area.
Following the incident, the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention but was declared dead on arrival.
