Twitter CEO Elon Musk to Leave His Position

International Desk, 12 May: Elon Musk revealed On May 11, that Twitter or what is now known as X Corp has a new CEO. He did not mention her name but he did say she will start in around six weeks.

Despite having bought Twitter last autumn and run it since, Musk has long insisted that he is not the company’s long-term CEO. The Tesla billionaire announced his appointment as Twitter’s executive chairman and chief technology officer in a tweet on Thursday.

Just a few weeks after purchasing the social networking platform for $44 billion, in the middle of November, he declared in front of a Delaware court that he did not want to lead any corporation.

While testifying, Musk said, “I expect to reduce my time at Twitter and find somebody else to run Twitter over time.”

More than a month later, he tweeted in December: “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job.” The pledge came after millions of Twitter users asked him to step down in a Twitter poll the billionaire himself created and promised to abide by.

It is important to note that in February, he predicted finding a CEO for San Francisco-based Twitter “probably towards the end of this year” during a conference.
