Two active ULFA-I cadres surrender before police in Assam’s Sonari
Guwahati, 25th November: Two members of the proscribed militant group United Liberation Front of Assam – Independent (ULFA-I) surrendered in Assam’s Sonari on November 25.
The two surrendered ULFA-I cadres have been identified as ‘Captain’ Nayan Patmaut and Deepak Hatibaruah.
Nayan Patmaut’s residence is reported to be in Lukhurakhon village of Sonari, while Deepak Hatibarua hails from Digboi in Tinsukia.
The duo also surrendered 2 grenades, two 9 MM pistols, 25 live ammunition to the police officials.
Following their voluntary surrender, both of them have been taken into police custody and necessary legal procedures being initiated.
