Two Apprehended for Alleged Kidnapping and Murder in Golaghat

Guwahati, 11th August: In a significant development, the Assam police have apprehended two individuals in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of a young woman in Sarupathar, Golaghat district. The suspects have been identified as Munindra Saikia and Dinesh Orang.

According to sources, the duo is accused of kidnapping the victim, Sangita Sauk, and subsequently murdering her before discarding her body in the Doyang River. It is suspected that the woman was also subjected to sexual assault before her tragic demise.

The incident transpired a week ago in the Uriumghat area of Sarupathar. Sangita Sauk had visited the residence of the accused to collect money owed to her. Tragically, she went missing shortly thereafter, and her whereabouts remained unknown. Despite ongoing search operations, her body has not yet been recovered.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, emphasizing the need for swift and rigorous action against such heinous crimes. Law enforcement agencies continue their investigation into this disturbing case in order to bring justice to the victim and her family.
