Two Arrested For Having Links With Terror Outfit

Guwahati: Two more people have been arrested in Assam on suspicion of having connections to the terrorist organisation Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), which is supported by Al-Qaeda in the Subcontinent (AQIS).

The two were reportedly detained a day after four other people were detained on same accusations in Assam.

Later, two more were captured as a result of information given by the four suspects who had already been arrested.

The arrests were made following raids at Barpeta, Tamulpur and Nalbari due districts in Assam.

It should be noted that since the crackdown on Assam’s terror modules began in April, some 45 persons have been detained from all over the state.

The majority of those detained in Assam were either professors at private madrasas or Imams of mosques.
