Two Bravehearts Sacrifice Lives in Tripura Flood Rescue Operations

Northeast, August 24 In a tragic turn of events, two individuals, including a jawan of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), lost their lives while bravely rescuing others during the devastating floods that have gripped Tripura.

Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha shared the heartbreaking news on X, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of Ashish Bose, a TSR jawan from Belonia in the South District, and Chiranjit Dey from Indranagar in the West District. Both men died on Thursday while engaged in rescue operations, saving others from the floodwaters.

“Deeply saddened by the loss of Ashish Bose (TSR Jawan from Belonia) & Chiranjit Dey (from Indranagar), two brave fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while saving others during #TripuraFloods. My deepest condolences to their families & friends. May their sacrifice continue to inspire us to strive for greater heights of courage and bravery. Their selfless act will never be forgotten,” wrote Chief Minister Saha.

The tragic incident has resonated across the nation, with leaders from various political spheres paying tribute to the fallen heroes. All India Congress Committee leader and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi also mourned the loss, expressing his sorrow on Facebook.

“Extremely pained to learn about the tragic loss of two brave jawans during the rescue operation of Tripura flood. Their selfless service, courage, and sacrifices will always be remembered. My deepest condolence to the bereaved families. The nation stands with them in these difficult times,” Gandhi stated.

The sacrifice of Ashish Bose and Chiranjit Dey has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, serving as a powerful reminder of the courage and dedication of those who put their lives on the line to save others in times of crisis.
