Assam: Two Dead, One Injured in Separate Road Accidents in Morigaon

Morigaon: Two separate road accidents in Assam’s Morigaon, on January 21 claimed the lives of two individuals and left one injured, highlighting the growing concern over road safety in the region.

The first incident occurred in Katahjari, where two young men identified as Gaurav Bordoloi and Ratan Deuri lost their lives. The duo was crushed beneath a tractor that overturned into a ditch while returning from a field. Despite the immediate response of local residents and police, the recovery of their bodies required prolonged efforts. The incident has left the community in shock, raising questions about safety measures for agricultural vehicles on public roads.

In another incident near the SBI Bank in Morigaon Majmajia, a chain collision involving a dumper truck, a Tata Harrier, a Baleno car, and a motorcycle caused significant disruption. The chaos unfolded when one vehicle struck another, leading to a series of collisions. While the accident created panic among onlookers, timely intervention by the Morigaon police helped restore order.

Authorities seized the vehicles involved, and the injured individual was promptly rushed to Morigaon Civil Hospital for medical attention. The incidents have sparked renewed calls for stricter enforcement of road safety norms to prevent such tragedies in the future.
