Guwahati: Amid Holi celebrations, two teenagers went missing while taking bath in a river at Goalpara in Assam on Tuesday afternoon.
The missing teenagers have been identified as Shubham Nath and Janardhan Das, both students of Class 12 and Class 10 respectively.
As per reports, the duo had gone to the river located near Gopalpur along the Krishnoi-Dudhnoi route.
Soon after, both of them went missing and suspected to have been swept away by strong currents.
When the duo didn’t arrive at their respective homes until the evening, their families reported them missing to the local police station.
On being informed, the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) reached the spot launched a rescue operation to trace out the teenagers.
As per available information, the search operation is still on.
