Two journalists die as car falls into river in Bongaigaon

Guwahati: Two journalists died after a car they were travelling fell into a river in Bongaigaon district of Assam.

The incident took place in the Barghola-Kahibari link bridge of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Journalists Abdul Latif and Deepankar Rai.

The bodies of the two journalists were recovered this morning.

As per the sources of MyNewsNE, the two journalists were associated with All Assam Student Union (AASU) and also former workers of the union.

Meanwhile, they were also associated with the local Bihu celebration committees as well as various events.

However, the accident is presently shrouded in mystery. It’s also unclear whether this was a pre-planned murder or an accident.

It needs to be noted that the four-wheeler was found lying on the east side of the Rs 41 crore bridge over the Ai River bridge.

From premilitary investigation, the journalist also had a disagreement with the cycle of running syndicate raj at Parghat.

Reportedly, the police are currently investigating into the entire incident.
