Two KCP Militants Arrested in Manipur for Extortion Activities
Imphal: Manipur Police on Monday arrested two suspected militants linked to different factions of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in separate operations, cracking down on alleged extortion networks in the state.
In Bishnupur district, 28-year-old Khomdram Ranjita Devi, alias Ichan, was apprehended from Kwaksiphai. Police confirmed she is an active member of the KCP (PWG faction). A mobile phone was seized from her possession, and she is accused of orchestrating extortion campaigns targeting shopkeepers, residents, and businesses in Thoubal.
In a parallel operation in Sekmai Bazaar, Imphal West, police arrested Yumkhaibam Ronaldo Meitei (23), linked to the KCP (Noyon faction). Meitei, a resident of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai Maning Leirak in Imphal East, was detained near the Forest Office Gate, with a mobile phone recovered at the scene.
Both suspects are under interrogation as police probe deeper into their involvement with broader militant networks and extortion rackets operating across Manipur.
