Guwahati: Two children have been drowned in the Brahmaputra River at South Salmara district of Assam on Saturday.
They have been identified as 5-year-old Rashida Khatun and 3-year-old Halima Khatun. Both the child is resident of Boro Rabhatari village.
According to reports, the two children had gone to the river this afternoon with a small group of other kids to take a bath. The two kids were washed away by the strong current of the river.
Meanwhile, the Salmara Police and the local residents have launched search operations to rescue the two kids. However, there is no trace of the missing children till now.
