Two Labourers Killed in Assam’s Gohpur

Guwahati: The tragic death of two labourers working under the IGGL company in Assam’s Gohpur sparked widespread outrage on February 11.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Rupam Barua, hailing from Lakuwa in Sivasagar, and Mehdi Hasan from West Bengal.

The unfortunate incident occurred in Sympho, near Itanagar, when the labourers were run over by a car pipe while transporting gas pipes in a vehicle belonging to Ganpati Drilling Company, operating under IGGL. This incident follows a previous tragedy where another worker had lost his life.

The repeated occurrences of such fatal incidents have raised serious concerns about the safety measures in place for workers involved in these operations.

Authorities are urged to conduct a thorough investigation to prevent further loss of life and ensure the safety of all employees working in similar conditions.
