Two More Shah Alam Talukdar Associates Held by Guwahati Police

Guwahati: The Guwahati Police arrested two more Shah Alam Talukdar associates on Wednesday.

The two suspects were taken into custody in Guwahati’s Paltan Bazaar area.

They were arrested based on Shah Alam’s admission made during his interrogation.

The two arrested persons have been identified as Pramathesh Papu Dihingiya and Bipul Das.

According to allegations, the pair stole Rs 3.4 lakhs from a gas agency. The incident involving the robbery also involved Shah Alam.

Shah is the prime accused in the murder of Guwahati-based businessman Ranjit Bora. Shah was brought into jail by the Dispur Police on February 6 and held there for seven days. On Sunday, he was brought before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court (CJM) and remanded for an additional five days to police detention.

Shah Alam had also made an attempt on his life in prison. Talukdar allegedly tried to cut his hand with the broken portion of a toilet cup after breaking it. However, he was found by the police in a bloodied condition, who rushed him for medical attention.
