Two National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) Cadres Surrender to BSF
Northeast Desk, 30th December: Two cadres affiliated with the banned outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) surrendered on December 30 before the Border Security Force (BSF) in the Chawmanu area of Dhalai District.
Prahar Jay Tripura and Debajay Tripura, residents of Thalchera village, chose to abandon the path of violence, joining the mainstream of society.
According to the BSF press release, both insurgents had joined the NLFT (BM) faction in October of the previous year.
The decision to surrender reflects a shift away from insurgency, aligning with the central agencies and state authorities’ efforts to reintegrate former militants into mainstream society.
Tripura has faced insurgency challenges for several decades, but recent initiatives have encouraged cadres to return to normal life.
The surrender of Prahar Jay Tripura and Debajay Tripura serves as a positive example, potentially motivating other misguided youths to abandon violence and contribute to the nation’s mainstream development.
