Two NSCN (IM) Cadres Apprehended in Arunachal Pradesh Pre-Dawn Operation

Itanagar: In a meticulously planned pre-dawn operation on December 26, security forces in Arunachal Pradesh apprehended two active cadres of the NSCN (IM) in the Rima area of Changlang district.

The operation, launched at 3 am, targeted individuals involved in extortion activities against local businessmen and shopkeepers.

The joint operation was executed by personnel from 11 PARA (SF), 10 Assam Rifles, and the Changlang Police, under the leadership of Sub Mahesh Singh of 11 PARA (SF).

Acting on specific intelligence, the team successfully apprehended SS Lt. Roney Rai alias Tutu (31), a resident of Jairampur in Changlang, and SS Sgt Maj. Anong Singpho (30), a resident of Pengri in Tinsukia, Assam.

The operation led to the recovery of a .32mm pistol with six rounds of ammunition, a Nagamese sickle (dah), a wallet, a PAN card, a Tecno mobile phone, and a SIM card from the possession of the arrested individuals.

This operation marks another significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb insurgency-related activities in the region. By targeting those engaged in extortion, the security forces aim to ensure greater safety and stability for the local population.
