ULFA-I third leader surrenders
Guwahati: The third top leader of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom –Independent (ULFA-I) leader surrendered before the Assam police on Saturday.
He was reportedly the Third-In-Command of Militant Group ULFA-I and was identified as Jugen Mili aka Himalay Asom is a resident of Disangmukh, Dokla of Sivasagar in the district of Assam.
According to reports, Mili decided to return home after more than 25 years.
It may be mentioned that Mili’s surrender comes months after Jibon Moran, the ULFA-I’s senior leader surrendered to the Dibrugarh police.
However, the surrender of Mili is seen as a major boost to the government’s efforts to integrate insurgents into the mainstream.
