Umesh Yadav & Shreyas Iyer Included As BCCI Announces Additions For SA Series
Guwahati: The BCCI announced on Wednesday that the Indian team for the home T20I series against South Africa now includes pacer Umesh Yadav, batter Shreyas Iyer, and all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed.
Due to a back issue, Deepak Hooda will not participate in the next South Africa tour of India. The all-rounder is at NCA for more injury treatment. While Arshdeep Singh has joined the team in Thiruvananthapuram, Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also reported to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for conditioning-related exercises.
Mohammed Shami can’t participate in the three-match T20I series since he hasn’t fully recovered from COVID-19.
Umesh Yadav and Shreyas Iyer have been chosen by the All-India Senior Selection Committee as replacements for Shami and Hooda, respectively. The T20I team now now includes Shahbaz Ahmed.
The first Twenty20 international match between India and South Africa will be played on Wednesday in Kerala. It will be followed by two more matches on October 2 and 4. After this, three ODIs will be played from October 6 onwards.
