Uncontested Victories Mark Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Elections
Northeast Desk, 30th March: In a significant turn of events, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein secured victory unopposed from the Chowkham constituency on March 30.
Likewise, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also emerged triumphant unopposed to the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Earlier in the electoral process, Dasanglu Pul, widely revered as the “Iron Lady” of Anjaw district, clinched victory unopposed as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the 45th Hayuliang Assembly Constituency. Pul’s uncontested win followed the withdrawal of her sole opponent, Bafutso Krong of the Congress party.
The election proceedings unfolded at the Chief Electoral Office in the Hawai district headquarters of Anjaw district, nestled along the border with China. With no challengers in sight, Dasanglu Pul’s ascension to victory marked a significant milestone in her political journey.
Adding to the roster of uncontested victories, the BJP candidate from the 13th Itanagar Assembly constituency emerged triumphant without facing opposition. Reports indicate that BJP candidate Techi Kaso secured victory unopposed after the rejection of NNP candidate Tai Tadap’s nomination by the CEO.
The latest update reveals a total of 5 candidates clinching uncontested wins, including Jikke Tako from Tali, Nyato Dukom from Taliha, Ratu Techi from Sagalee, and Mutchu Mithi from Roing Assembly constituencies.
Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, boasting a 30-year tenure as MLA from Sagalee, opted to shift gears and contest parliamentary elections this time, filing his nomination from Aalo.
