Guwahati: The body of an unidentified girl was recovered from a field at Cachar district of Assam on Thursday.
The body was spotted near the Shibpur under Lakhipur sub-division of the district.
According to reports, the girl is identified to be a college student.
Meanwhile, the body was sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem.
From the preliminary investigation, it is suspected to be a case of murder and left the body there.
It needs to be mentioned that the police have initiated a probe into the matter. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
