Unidentified Miscreant Steals Tricolor From Shop Ahead Of I-Day in Assam

Guwahati: A miscreant allegedly stole a tricolour flag that was unfurled outside a shop in Assam’s Golaghat district on Saturday night, just before India’s 75th Independence Day.

The entire incident was recorded on CCTV in the district’s Bezbaruah Chariali.

As per reports, the shopkeeper had unfurled a tiranga outside his shop as part of the Centre’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, but the flag was stolen by a thief wearing a helmet.

Reportedly, it’s unclear whether the man attempted to steal or sabotage the tricolour.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Indians to fly the tricolour flag outside their homes and government offices as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. On August 13, the campaign officially began.
