Unidentified miscreants attack Shillong residents, 3 injured
Guwahati: Three persons were injured when a gang of eight unidentified miscreants assaulted them at West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya on Thursday.
The incident took place around 4-4:30 pm at Lumdiengjri area of Shillong.
The injured persons have been identified as Chandan Paul who is a resident of Lower Mawprem. The two other victims, Nurjul Mullah and Abdul Sukkur, both are the residents of Garikhana.
According to reports, Paul was allegedly stabbed while two other residents of Garikhana had injuries on their faces and backs. Two of the injured are shopkeepers.
Nurjul was standing outside the SBI ATM which is located near the Lumdiengjri Police Station when he was suddenly attacked by the unidentified miscreants, reports claimed.
Meanwhile, Chandan’s sister Ruma stated she received word from her brother that he had been stabbed outside his shop and the other two victims were punched.
She claimed that when she arrived on the scene, she encountered some police officers.
According to the victims, the criminals were wearing masks.
However, three of the injured were brought to the Civil Hospital of Shillong.
It may be mentioned that the police are yet to give an official statement.
