National Desk, 23rd July: The Union Budget for 2024-25 has earmarked Rs 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skill development across the country. Presenting the budget in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized a focus on employment, skilling, MSMEs, and the middle class.
Key highlights from the budget presentation include:
- Focus Areas: The budget aims to bolster employment opportunities, enhance skills training, support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and provide relief to the middle class.
- PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana: The extension of the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for five more years will continue to benefit 80 crore people.
- Historical Presentation: This budget marks Sitharaman’s seventh consecutive presentation, surpassing the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai.
- Third Term of Modi Government: This is the first budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in its third term, reflecting the renewed mandate from the Indian electorate.
