Union Budget 2024-25 Allocates Rs 1.48 Lakh Crore for Education, Employment, and Skills

National Desk, 23rd July: The Union Budget for 2024-25 has earmarked Rs 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skill development across the country. Presenting the budget in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized a focus on employment, skilling, MSMEs, and the middle class.

Key highlights from the budget presentation include:

  • Focus Areas: The budget aims to bolster employment opportunities, enhance skills training, support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and provide relief to the middle class.
  • PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana: The extension of the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for five more years will continue to benefit 80 crore people.
  • Historical Presentation: This budget marks Sitharaman’s seventh consecutive presentation, surpassing the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai.
  • Third Term of Modi Government: This is the first budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in its third term, reflecting the renewed mandate from the Indian electorate.

Sitharaman highlighted the continued trust and faith of the Indian people in the Modi-led government as they embark on their third term in office.
