Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday officially unveiled the MBBS course materials in Hindi in Bhopal in a first for the nation.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state medical education minister Vishwas Sarang were also present on the occasion.
According to CM Chouhan, “Today Amit Shah has brought a new dawn in the lives of impoverished youngsters who could secure admission to medical institutes but were trapped in the web of English and frequently could not pass tests and left their studies.”
The first state in the nation to begin an MBBS programme in Hindi is Madhya Pradesh. Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry are the first three disciplines chosen to be studied in Hindi.
A group of 97 professionals have been working on the book preparation for the past 232 days at Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal. The book is currently being translated from English to Hindi.
Madhya Pradesh medical education minister Vishwas Sarang claimed on Sunday that the decision will significantly enhance education in Hindi.
Sarang stated in a statement to ANI, “A significant day has come. In Madhya Pradesh, medical education will start for the first time in the nation. Amit Shah, the minister of the interior, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister, will today introduce the Hindi translations of the textbooks for all three first-year subjects—anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.”

The Minister said that it is an emotional moment to start an MBBS course in Hindi.
“My father had an ambition of being a Hindi writer, and today, with his approval, I am beginning that dream. Nothing more important could have been accomplished after 75 years of freedom than this. Hindi was someplace behind English as a sign of servitude “Sarang added.

The expert added that certain new chapters, such as those on sodium, potassium, water homeostasis, biochemistry techniques, radiation, radioisotopes, and environmental pollutants and toxins, are applied in the new edition of Medical Biochemistry.
Moreover, additional line diagrams, tables, and text boxes have been included to help readers remember the material.
Several chapters on surface anatomy have also been added in the lower limb and abdomen parts of the Anatomy edition. To help students retain more information, new line diagrams, CT and MRI diagram tables, and flow charts have been added.
