Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Embark on Two-Day Trip to Tripura for BJP’s Election Campaign

Northeast Desk, 29th March: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day visit to Tripura starting from April 7, where he will play a pivotal role in bolstering the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) campaign efforts for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the northeastern state, revealed a party leader on Friday.

During his anticipated visit, Shah is slated to address a rally and lead a roadshow the following day, as part of the BJP’s concerted efforts to galvanize support for its candidates contesting in the two Lok Sabha seats in Tripura.

According to BJP state general secretary Amit Rakshit, Shah is expected to conduct an organisational meeting with party leaders, in addition to his public engagements. The itinerary includes an address at a rally in Gumati district’s Udaipur and a spirited roadshow in Agartala, the capital city.

Preparations for Shah’s visit have been in full swing, with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha convening a meeting with senior party leaders to ensure a seamless and impactful event.

Elections for the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency and the by-poll for the Ramnagar assembly seat are scheduled for April 19, while the Tripura East parliamentary constituency will go to polls on April 26.

In addition to Shah’s visit, the BJP has lined up an impressive roster of star campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, and party MP Hema Malini, who are expected to join the campaign trail in the northeastern state shortly.

Rakshit emphasized that the BJP has already submitted a wishlist of star campaigners to the party’s central leadership, indicating the party’s proactive stance in gearing up for the electoral battle. With Chief Minister Manik Saha at the helm, the BJP has kickstarted its campaign initiatives, poised to make a resounding impact in the upcoming elections.
