Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Strengthen Ties with Assam
Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a three-day visit to Assam, commencing on March 14.
During his visit, Shah will address the 57th annual conference of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) in Kokrajhar and inaugurate the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy at Dergaon.
The ABSU conference, scheduled to take place from March 13 to 16, aims to bring together policymakers, educators, and community leaders to discuss education and youth development.
The event will focus on advancing the ‘Mission Quality Education Movement-2030’, strengthening academic frameworks, and exploring strategies to empower students and professionals.
Experts will also analyse the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on regional learning, and discussions will centre on education, economic initiatives, and development programmes.
The conference will feature sports tournaments, literary contests, a cultural evening, and an exhibition-cum-book fair showcasing Bodo heritage.
On March 15, Shah will inaugurate the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy and later visit Mizoram before returning to Guwahati. The following day, he will address the ABSU conference before returning to Delhi.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, and other key stakeholders will also attend the conference.
