Union Home Minister to Appoint Interlocutor Over Tipraland Demand, Says Pradyot Manikya
Guwahati: Leader of TIPRA Motha Pradyot Manikya Debbarma stated on March 23 that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would announce the name of the interlocutor on March 27 who would study and examine TIPRA Motha’s demand for a “constitutional solution” to the problems and issues facing by the Tripura’s 14 lakh tribal people.
TIPRA Motha leader Pradyot Manikya Debbarma stated that Union Minister Amit Shah has called him to confirm the appointment of an interlocutor on March 27 to handle the Tipraland demand and seek a “constitutional solution”.
“Amit Shah categorically assured me that by the 27th of this month an interlocutor will be announced for our talks regarding the constitutional solution for our indigenous people of tripura . I hope the home minister will understand the sentiments of the tiprasa and honour the commitment he has given to me”, said Pradyot Manikya.
Union home minister Amit Shah, TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma party leader Bijoy Hrangkhawl and the party’s 13 freshly elected MLAs met on March 8 in Agartala and an assurance to this effect was made. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, JP Nadda and Tripura CM Manik Saha were also present.
