Union Minister Amit Shah to Embark on 4 Day Visit to Violence-Hit Manipur

National Desk, 29 May: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday will embark on a four-day visit to the violent hit Manipur to examine the situation and determine what has to be done to bring to return normalcy in the state.

According to reports, Amit Shah is expected to arrive in Imphal by this evening and remain there till June 1.

Amit Shah will hold a number of security meetings throughout his stay in the state to evaluate the situation and choose the best course of action for reestablishing order.

Chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh and other state officials met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier on May 14 in Delhi to address the present condition of affairs in the violent state.

The goal of the conference which reportedly lasted more than two hours was to bring peace and tranquilly back to Manipur. Home Minister received a briefing on the status of affairs on the ground.

Reportedly, state leadership was encouraged to start a massive outreach effort right once and interact with the general public about the crisis.

Moreover, Centre has pledged that no one who has attempted to sabotage the peace in the area will be spared.
