Union Minister Distributes Compensation for Frontier Highway Project

Itanagar: Union Minister of Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, distributed compensation to families affected by the Frontier Highway Project (9 Mile to Lada) in Nafra, Arunachal Pradesh, on June 9. The project aims to enhance road connectivity in the border regions of the state, featuring double-lane facilities.

Rijiju emphasized the significance of proper road connectivity for development, noting that improved infrastructure has reduced travel time to the state capital, Itanagar, from places like Nafra, Seppa, and Koloriang. He stated that ensuring proper road connectivity had been his dream and promise to the people.

The minister highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing border connectivity, with several projects currently underway under the Vibrant Villages Programme. He appealed to the public to welcome development initiatives and avoid creating disturbances or hindrances in their implementation.

Rijiju urged the compensation beneficiaries to use the funds wisely for the welfare of their families. Local MLA Dongru Siongju expressed gratitude for bringing the Frontier Highway Project to the state, describing it as ambitious and transformative.

The event was attended by senior officials, including DC Bichom Bopai Puriok, SP Bichom Pawan Yadav, and other dignitaries, as well as local leaders and members of the public.
