United Nations ranks India third in Natural Disaster Affected List

India ranked third in the highest numbers of natural disasters over the last 20 years after China and United States of America (USA). In a data released by United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) on 13 October on worldwide natural disasters India ranked third.

UNDRR has given the report of the number of natural disasters that have hit in the last 20 years, from 2000 to 2019. In the report it is stated that 7,348 natural disasters were reported out of which 91% them were floods, storm, landslide, heat waves, wildfire and drought.
