UP: BJP Candidate’s Convoy Attacked In Bhaghpat
Guwahati: MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Uttar Pradesh elections Sahendra Ramala’s roadshow convoy was allegedly attacked in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
According to BJP workers, cow excrement was thrown on the caravan, which was also assaulted with stones.
Sahendra Ramala is the BJP’s candidate from the Chhaprauli constituency, where he was conducting the roadshow.
According to BJP leaders, cow poo and cow dung cakes were thrown at automobiles during a procession in favour of the BJP candidate.
The caravan was allegedly stoned, and when it arrived near the RLD office, party employees protested by waving flags, resulting in a confrontation between the two sides.
The incident’s videos became viral on social media. An attempt to assassinate Sahendra Ramala was also made, but was foiled by security forces on the scene, according to the footage. His followers, on the other hand, were beaten with sticks and rods.
According to reports, Ramala demanded strict action against the culprits. “The opposition is terrified of the BJP’s public backing.” That is why they assaulted my caravan,” he added, adding that the attackers spared no one, even women.
Hundreds of people turned out for the tour. There were also automobiles and tractors. The perpetrators emerged from the crowd and launched an attack as soon as Ramala arrived.
It may be mentioned that SP of Baghpat, Neeraj Kumar Jadaun stated some people have been recognised based on the footage and Three persons have been detained by the police.
Kumar further informed that he will visit the incident site and further investigation into the matter is underway.
