UP: Candidate Wants to Make a Record of Losing 100 Times
Guwahati: The first round of the Uttar Pradesh elections began with the filing of nominations last week. While many people are running for office in the hopes of winning, one person is doing so solely to lose.
A man identified as Hasanuram Ambedkari from Uttar Pradesh has set a new record by losing 93 elections in a row and he now wants to set a new record by losing 100 times.
According to reports, he has filed his nomination papers for the Kheragarh Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra as an independent candidate. He is about to run for his 94th election, and he has done so in the hopes of losing a hundred.
However, Ambedkari has run in elections for several entities including the Lok Sabha, state legislatures, and panchayat elections from various seats since 1985.
It may be mentioned that in 1988, he even submitted nomination papers for the position of President of India but his candidacy was denied.
