Guwahati: In a horrible incident, a teenage Dalit girl was allegedly raped in the Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, as per the police officials.
As per reports, the alleged incident occurred on October 3 while the accused named as Monu, was overseeing music arrangements in a Durga Puja pandal. The woman was reportedly raped in the field while she was using the restroom in the Jamo area.
The local SHO Akhilesh Gupta reported that a FIR had been filed and the accused had been taken into custody in accordance with IPC section 376 (rape), the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act, and POSCO Act.
