UP: Nine killed in a bus-truck Collision
Guwahati: Nine people were killed and at least 27 people got severely injured in an Incident in Uttar Pradesh (UP) in the wee hours on Thursday.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Deva Kotwali area around 5.30 am in Barabanki district of UP.
District magistrate Adarsh Singh informed that a passenger bus was traveling from Delhi to Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, through Lucknow, when it collided head-on with a truck, killing nine of the passengers, and the other 27 got severely injured in the incident.
He further stated that both the bus and the truck were traveling at very high speeds.
However, the injured people were rushed to a local hospital and those who got severely wounded in the incident were shifted to the KGMU trauma center in the state capital, Lucknow.
It may be mentioned that Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed his sorrow over the incident and announced ex gratia payments of 2 lakh to the kin of each of the deceased and 50,000 to those injured in the incident.
