UP Police Booked 8 For ‘Hookah & Meat Party’ On Holy River Ganga

Guwahati: An accusation was filed against eight people in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh following uproar over a video showing them smoking hookah and frying chicken on a boat on the sacred Ganga River, on Wednesday.

According to the Prayagraj Police, two people who have been identified and six others who are still at large have been detained in connection with the incident. They are accused of violating religious beliefs and defiling a holy site. They stated that they would be detained shortly.

A digital journalist posted a video of a man in Prayagraj smoking a hookah and roasting kebabs on the boat as it sailed along the mighty Ganga.

In the meantime, the incident has aroused indignation on social media, and users have been calling for the arrest of the criminals and stern action against them.

The UP Police has started looking for the eight people as a result of the social media issue.

Notably, the video is thought to be from Nagvasuki Mandir in Prayagraj’s Daraganj.
