UP Polls: Man climbs at Minister Sidharth Nath stage, threatens to harm himself

Guwahati: A person was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police for allegedly climbing onto the stage where UP Minister Sidharth Nath Singh was present and threatening to harm himself.

According to national media reports, the individual has been apprehended and is being interrogated.

According to reports, police did not discover any blades or sharp devices on him that could injure the UP Minister. An attempt was made to assassinate Uttar Pradesh Minister Sidharth Nath Singh today, according to sources. A guy allegedly attempted to assassinate the UP Minister while he was on his way to file his nomination for the next assembly elections, but police have denied such allegations.

Siddharth Nath Singh is running for the Allahabad West constituency in the Lok Sabha. Singh, who presently serves in Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet as Minister of Khadi and Villages, Sericulture, and Textile, is a key figure in the 2018 elections.

In the 2017 assembly elections, he ran for the Prayagraj (Allahabad) West assembly constituency for the BJP. In this election, he defeated Pooja Pal, a BSP MLA for ten years, and once the BJP formed the government in Uttar Pradesh, he was handed the Health Ministry. In Uttar Pradesh, he is also the official spokesperson for the Bhartiya Janta Party.
