UP Polls: Phase 4 voting begins today in 59 constituencies

Guwahati: The fourth phase of assembly elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh began in 59 constituencies at 7 AM on Wednesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP)-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) alliance, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress are the main challengers in the state’s election.

There are 624 candidates in the fray today. Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda, and Fatehpur are among the districts with 59 Assembly seats.

The election for the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly will take place in seven stages, with the final round taking place on March 7. The final three phases will be voted on February 27, March 3, and March 7.

However, on March 10 the votes will be counted.
