USTM Chancellor met Governor of Meghalaya

A team led by the Chancellor of University of Science Technology, Meghalaya (USTM)  M. Hoque along with Dr. R. K. Sharma, Advisor Ifegenia Kharkrang, Executive Assistant and other officials met the new Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik today at Raj Bhavan, Shillong who had assumed office on last 18th August after his successful tenures as Governor of Goa, J&K, Bihar & Odisha.

The team welcomed Shri Malik with mementos, flower bouquets and gifts, who is also going to be the visitor of the University very soon. In the brief interaction M. Hoque, the Chancellor of USTM apprised the new Governor about the progress and performance of the University. The Governor had also called upon the research activities being carried out by the University.

Addressing the gathering, the Meghalaya Governor said, “I really appreciate the remarkable achievements in the field of education by such a young self financed private University in the North Eastern region.” “The entrepreneurial efforts of the USTM Chancellor and his team is worth highlighting,” he added. He also assured to extend all kinds of support to USTM during his tenure. The meeting also discussed about the ensuing 6 th Convocation of the University and the Hon’ble Governor had given his consent to grace this prestigious event and confer the degrees. The 6th Convocation of USTM is likely to be conducted in the first half of December, 2020.
