Uttarakhand Murder Case: BJP Leader Vinod Arya Expelled Following Son’s Arrest
Guwahati: Vinod Arya and Ankit Arya, the father and brother of the primary suspect in the case involving the death of the receptionist were removed from the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday with immediate effect.
Additionally, the Uttarakhand government has removed them from their position as the Deputy Chairman of the Uttarakhand Other Backward Classes Commission.
Ankita Bhandari, a 19-year-old receptionist who was reported missing a few days ago, was found dead earlier today. Her body was found on Saturday in Rishikesh’s Chilla canal.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “In order to ensure the harshest punishment for the culprits, an SIT has been formed under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police P. Renuka Devi ji and ordered an in-depth investigation of this serious matter.”
Reports state that the accused admitted to pushing Ankita into the Chilla canal after a disagreement.
At the same time, the accused’s Vistara Resort was destroyed.
Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar said, “The girl went missing five-six days back. The area of the resort didn’t come under a regular Police Station area. There is a Patwari Police system here and an FIR was registered under that on behalf of the resort owner.”
“The DM handed over the case to Laxman Jhula Police, who worked out the case within 24 hours. The resort owner turned out to be the accused. Three accused including the resort owner Pulkit were been arrested,” he added.
