Guwahati: In a tragic incident, one member of a marriage party was killed when their vehicle met with an accident in Dhubri district of Assam on Friday.
The incident occurred at Nathpara on national highway 17 in Chapar in the Dhubri district of Assam.
A member of the bridegroom’s party was driving the car that was involved in the collision.
The car’s driver reportedly lost control and slammed into a roadside tree.
Two people including the newlywed wife were critically injured as a result of the tragedy, and one woman died on the spot.
The deceased woman has been identified as Nafisa Sultana.
The accident took place when the entourage was returning from Guwahati to Dhubri after the marriage.
All the injured were immediately shifted to a hospital in Bongaigaon in a critical condition.
