Venkaiah Naidu Administers Oath to 5 Newly Elected RS MPs
Guwahati: Five newly elected Rajya Sabha members from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha administered their oaths of office on Friday from Vice President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, M Venkaiah Naidu.
The MPs who took the oath of office are Niranjan Reddy Sirgapoor and Ryaga Krishnaiah, both from Andhra Pradesh and members of the YSRCP, Damodar Rao Divakonda and B Parthasaradhi Reddy, both from Telangana and members of the TRS, and Niranjan Bishi, a representative of the BJD, from Odisha.
In the by-election held to replace the temporary vacancy created in the Rajya Sabha as a result of Subhash Chandra Singh’s resignation, Niranjan Bishi was chosen to serve.
Meanwhile, Harivansh, the deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha, V Muraleedharan, the minister of state for parliamentary affairs and external affairs, as well as other top Rajya Sabha Secretariat officials, were also present.
