Veteran Anupamaa actor Rituraj Singh dies at 59 after battle with Pancreatic disease

Entertainment Desk, 20th February: Renowned actor Rituraj Singh, known for his versatile roles in television and films, tragically passed away on Tuesday, February 20. The actor had been battling pancreatic disease and was recently hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Confirming his demise, close friend Amit Bhel stated, “Yes, he passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to the hospital some time back for treatment of pancreatitis, returned home, had some cardiac complications, and passed away.”

Rituraj Singh’s untimely death has left the entertainment industry in shock, with fans and colleagues expressing their condolences on various platforms.

The talented actor was recognized for his impactful performances in popular television shows such as “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” “Kutumb,” “Abhay 3,” and “Anupamaa,” among others. He also left a mark in Bollywood with notable roles in films like “Satyamev Jayate 2” and “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” where he portrayed Varun Dhawan’s father alongside Alia Bhatt.

Reflecting on his journey in the entertainment world, Rituraj Singh shared, “I started with a children’s theatre group when I was 12 years old and at 17, I joined the professional group of Barry John. I did theatre with him for 12 years, thereafter two English films, and in 1993, I did my first TV show and kept doing for 25 years. Now, it’s all about films and digital space.”
