Veteran filmmaker Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala Passes Away
Guwahati: Filmmaker and veteran director Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala passed away early on Monday due to a heart arrest, his son and producer Firoz Nadiadwala confirmed. He was 91.
According to PTI, Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala fell away around 1.40 am at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.
“My father Shri Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala aged 91 years passed away today 22nd August 2022 at 1.40 am due to cardiac arrest at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai,” Firoz Nadiadwala said in a media statement.
Over 50 Hindi films, including the 1965 feature “Mahabharat” and popular comedies from the 2000s like “Hera Pheri” and “Welcome,” were supported by Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala.
In 1953, he founded his business producing movies and creating media entertainment.
On Twitter, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn expressed his condolences for the veteran producer’s passing.
“Deepest condolences on the passing of Shri Gaffarbhai Nadiadwala. My father & he were associates during the golden era of our cinema. Om Shanti AG Nadiadwala saab. My condolences to the Nadiadwala family,” Devgn said in a tweet.
