Victor Das Claims: I have Provided Call Recordings to Police
Guwahati: Victor Das, who was arrested by the Assam Police on Friday for rumor-mongering, has claimed that he gave them phone recordings.
Das said, “I have given the police all of the proof. Given that I have verifiable proof, I won’t give up.
He added, “I have also offered call recording.”
Das’ mother reportedly reacted to his detention as well and requested that he not be treated like a criminal.
She asked, “Will he claim anything without any supporting evidence? He spoke out for society by raising his voice.
“He didn’t shout to disparage the state government, she said. He spoke out against the dalals who were attempting to offer jobs in return for cash. Nobody makes such a significant decision without proof.”
The Director General of Police (DGP), Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta, stated earlier today that Victor Das was unable to provide reliable information on the subject and had erroneously interpreted the circumstances.
It should be mentioned that Victor Das was detained on Friday for allegedly distributing inaccurate information on candidates’ selection for the Grade III and IV positions in the Direct Recruitment examination, which was held in Assam on August 21 and 28.
Victor Das, who owns a coaching institute in Guwahati, in a tweet claimed that “a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment” and that “people are demanding money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post”.
Tagging the state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Special DGP GP Singh over twitter, Victor wrote, “Respected Sir, a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment of the recently held ADRE exams where people are demanding money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post, also a few ex-MLA is involved. Please help.”
